In class I overheard this girl saying that in elementary her class took a “field trip” to a “mexican” grocery store and restaurant so that they could get a good feel of their culture. Ummm what??? I couldn’t believe she was being serious! lol Mexicans don’t go on a “field trip” to the mall or the country club/golf course to see the culture of “caucasians”. How is that even a proper representation of Mexican-American culture?? This goes on the list of ridiculous remarks I have heard while living in the beautiful, racially-divided state of Arizona.
